Memo Castro


Guillermo “Memo” Castro is the founder and president, a shipyard that has been the building facility of Antares Catamarans since 2010. In the past, Memo has managed his own established boatyard and managed the production of the Open 30 sailboat with an innovative moving keel, the Milonga 35 – a tender designed by German Frers, and a 42-foot classic Marco Polo trawler.

By the age of 50, Memo has spent a lifetime as a professional sailor, both as crewmember and skipper. Memo’s career includes intensive training with North Sails Argentina, where he later set up a new Rigging and Deck Handling Management division. In this role he advised on and set up ideal rigging and deck hardware, working with leading brands such as Lewmar, Sparcraft and others.

Memo gained building experience by managing the refurbishment and construction projects of a number of cruising and racing yachts and has worked with all available materials including carbon fiber, FRP, wood and steel.

Ramiro Vargas

Human Resources Manager

Ramiro has been working with 40 Grados Sur for 15 years. His extensive knowledge in human resource management have lead him to be one of the most valuable team members. His dedication and commitment to the 40 Grados employees is unmatched.

Sancho Castro

Quality Assurance and R&D

Sancho is an experienced sailor and loves to race. His responsibility is quality assurance and research and development. Sancho main objective is to insure every yacht built to the highest quality standards by physically examining and testing every step of the built process including material used and finished products on each and every yacht. He is also in charge of identifying new technologies that can live up to the reputation of the “Finest Live Aboard”.

Isabel Defferrari

Lead Designer

Isabel is an Industrial Designer and has been working in the design team of the Antares 44 since 2012. With a focus on process optimization, Isabel has turned around the whole construction process and has gained the respect of the production staff.  Her design improvement and changes can be seen everywhere around the boat.

Camila Cacciavillani


Graduated from the Buenos Aires University, Camila has been keeping our books in order since 2010. Her attention to details and quality of work are traits which are hard to find. Her work at 40GS has been exemplary.

Mariano Sellanes

Supply Chain Manager

Mariano is a customs agent by trade and a keen sailor. He has taken great interest in boat building while working for 40GS as a customs agent. In 2016 he finally joined the team as the supply chain manager. His work at 40GS is evidence of his will power and perseverance with which he has tackled every challenge we’ve encountered.

Fernando Sansenbag

Production Manager

Fernando joined 40GS in 2008 as technical manager after a long boatbuilding career. In 2016 he took over as production Manager of the Antares line with the objective of making the finest Liveaboard even better. He is the first one to arrive and the last one leaving!
